Popular rum brand on mission to find nation’s number one fan of Caribbean spirit

Old J Spiced Rum is calling for lovers of the spirit to state why they should be crowned the nation’s number one rum fan. The contest has been organised to mark National Rum Day (August 16) and admirers of the Caribbean drink can win a special themed prize if they can state their case convincingly.

The lucky winner will receive a custom-designed bar that is fully stocked and designed meet to their rum needs. The Old J team will also provide a rum expert, bartender and DJ to help launch the tiki bar with a bang at a party for friends and family.

To be in with a chance of winning this exciting prize, contestants have to tell Old J why they should be crowned the UK’s top rum fan.

Instagram garden DIY expert @colourmadetheroom has been enlisted to build the winner’s perfect tiki bar. Old J Spiced Rum is a premium spirit drink which comes in seven unique flavours. Developed with a selection of secret spices, Old J is available in a classic blend as well as more exotic flavours including cherry, pineapple and the not-for-the-faint-hearted Tiki Fire.

Old J has been created in honour Admiral Edward Vernon, who was known as Old Grog. However, Old J brings Verno’s concept into the 21st Century by using the finest Caribbean Rum combined with our secret blend of spices, sugar, vanilla and Persian lime.

It took more than 60 trials before the perfect harmony of ingredients was found, and Old J’s smooth and spicy flavour profile was born. It is now available in six unique varieties, with the same blended base spirit used throughout — except for in Old J Gold, which uses a British Virgin Isles rum from a pot still.

Bottles can be found in Morrisons and Click n Drink as well as independent retail stores and bars across the UK. If you have a passion for rum like no other, and want to be in with a chance of being crowned the UK’s biggest rum fan, you can enter here.
